Italian politics have been trying for years to get the Italian economy moving again. Now the government has grasped what constitutes the peculiarity of the Italian made products: their extremely high quality.
In order to be able to recognize this high quality at first sight, soon an official trademark for products "Made in Italy" will be created. How this trademark will actually look like, is not yet known.
The trademark is to be used for food produced in Italy and will be implemented before the World Expo 2015. It should enable consumers to distinguish authentic Italian food from Italian sounding products with only one glance.
Special emphasis is placed on notice of this seal abroad, to strengthen exports and provide a certified quality and origin to foreign customers and connoisseurs.
The Development Minister Guidi explains: "We expect in the next two years a growth by one percentage point in the field of exports of Italian food."
