The Territories of Italy's Great Classic Methods
In recent years Italian wineries and producers are increasingly exploring the classic method.
Not only the territories of great vocation, but in all regions bubbles of the highest level and finesse can be discovered.
Today, however, we will talk about the three most popular and well-known appellations: Trento DOC, Franciacorta DOCG and Alta Langa DOCG.
Three different terroirs, with three different wines and results, in some ways incomparable and to be looked at individually without falling into the temptation of direct comparison just because they are produced with the same methodology.
The Trento DOC with its nature halfway between the wind of the Alps and the influence of Lake Garda, cultivated at high altitudes and with a result that focuses mainly on freshness and almost crispness of the wine; we can call it a mountain bubbly, at the level of grape varieties it is distinguished in the specifications by the possibility of including Pinot Meunier
Franciacorta, on the other hand, is a richer territory at the soil level.
Bubbles with an excellent aromatic presence and scents of bread crust, which, however, at the same time maintain an acid shoulder capable of supporting them and making them always fresh and pleasant; in the specification the proper and characteristic vine is Erbamat, still not very widespread but increasingly included in experiments by wineries.
Finally, L'Alta Langa, the one with the longest minimum aging in the specification (30 months).
A territory where sparkling wine has historical roots, in fact it is the first classic method to have been produced in Italy, here in the mid-19th century in the so-called Underground Cathedrals
At the taste level it is the sapidity that stands out, which, remaining in harmony with the rest of the flavors, gives the wines an enviable drinkability.
