The Bamboo shoot is a typical food of Japanese cuisine, in many ways similar to asparagus, with very interesting nutritional properties. Externally the bud is covered with a thick and very resistant envelope of leaves and opening it, inside it, we can find a pulpy bud of white-cream color.
The consistency is crunchy and has a delicate and unmistakable flavor even if once boiled it acquires a fairly neutral flavor, adapting itself for this to the different dishes.
