The Pastificio Maciarelli began its work in the historic center of San Martino at the time of the unification of Italy. The pasta was put out to dry outside in the narrow street. The meal came from the mills directly from San Martino.
In the 19th century a part of the family went to live in the region of Pescara and finally in the 50s in the region of l'Acquila, namely in Pratola Peligna.
To date, the family holds pride of the pasta tradition of their ancestors and produces original products, which are a real treat.
The pasta type "Spaghettoni" of Masciarelli was awarded Best pasta in Italy in 2013 from Gambero Rosso.
