The almond is a oleaginous fruit that is highly nutritious and beneficial to health and beauty. It contains many B vitamins, which are good for the liver, skin and hair. In addition, it contains potassium, zinc, polyunsaturated fatty acids, and essential oils.
Between July and August the almonds are harvested. People tap with long poles on the branches of the almond trees, so that the almonds fall on the previously spread towels. Now the green shell is removed and the almonds are laid out to dry. Then the almonds are shelled, roasted and processed.
In the kitchen it is often used as almond milk or marzipan - also in the form of Frutta Martorana.
