In the interior of Sicily, 22 km from Alcamo and 44 km from Palermo, grows in the hills with chalky and sandy soils, a rare grape variety named Perricone.
Few winemakers experiment with the Perricone vine and today even a varietal wine can be produced.
The wine has notes of spice and minerals. The palate is supported by the rich tannins and the taste is strong, full-bodied with sweet fruit notes. These notes are caused by the sun-kissed grapes.
The research consortium that examines risks from organic farming, has found that the Perricone grapes contain much resveratrol and piceatannol, which are particularly beneficial for the health.
The organic farm Adamo does not use any chemical products in their farming methods.
The Perricone grapes are dark blue to black. The vines contain many grapes with a thick skin.
