Back in the 1800s the contrada “Passu Ladru,” located between Noto and Syracuse, was a place of raids and brigands , used to raid the fields.
Passo Ladro, named after the contrada in which it is located, has created a project aimed at restoring the social, natural and vital balance of the lands.
It wants to rediscover their unexpressed potential, starting precisely with those in the Val di Noto.
Steeped in history and tradition, these lands are flanked by a culture of value to which we want to give voice on a daily basis through healthy and genuine organic Sicilian products.
Our goal is to protect the work of the new Ethical Brigantes, who over time have managed to repopulate the contrada's fields, promoting a healthy and unknowingly organic crop.
Initially we were talking about as much as 27 hectares of pristine land but uncultivated for decades, abandoned by the owners, children of farmers who left in search of a better future.
Then we went further, meeting our neighbors, farmers over 80 years old:
The trust of a wary old farmer is won by spending hours with them.
Sacrifices and energy were the foundations used to build a project with ethical flavors; today 250 hectares and an alliance of six producers are a call to the land for many young people.
We want to work to succeed in achieving an agricultural revolution, we want to work for a dream that will never cease to exist: an ethical, clean world that values the land.
